Half Street Numbers
From Historical Hastings
Summary
Due to the density of buildings in the Old Town in particular, after a street was completed (post street numbering) any 'infill' numbers were either given a suffix (e.g. 'A' 'B' 'C' etc.) and more rarely a half number e.g. 1½, yet peculiarly more common in the Hastings Old Town than perhaps elsewhere in the country.
