Spitfire Fund
From Historical Hastings
During WW2 the war department often donated aircraft, both from the enemy and Allied air force to raise funds for construction of more aircraft. This was referred to as 'The Spitfire Fund'. A number of displays of these aircraft were in place around the town at various times;
A Heinkel at Summerfields House was on display until the 25th of October 1940[1]
