Inherited his father's estates of Siggeston and Winton, Yorks. J.P. for Leics., Rutland, Sussex and Kent, where he had estates acquired by purchase. D.L. for Sussex and Rutland. High Sheriff of Leics. Frewen's grandfather adopted the additional surname of Turner in 1777, so some genealogy records may list him as Charles Hay Frewen Turner. He studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, graduating in 1832. Acquired Coghurst Hall on his marriage to Musgrave Brisco's widow. Was M. P. for East Sussex in 1846-7 and 1852, being admitted the Freedom to the city of London in 1848[1]
Died Sept. 1, 1878, at Cold Overton Hall, Leicestershire, leaving an estate valued at below £6,000[2]
