Canadian Soldiers
From Historical Hastings
During both World War 1 and World War 2, Canadian soldiers were stationed in the town, whether for recuperation from injuries sustained, being billeted in the town as air-defence gunners or in preparation for the eventual Normandy landings. A camp was established in Hastings during 1916 for the Second Canadian Division of the Canadian Army in addition to a number of other towns in the South East[1].
