The Bowman

During 1965, planning permission was granted for the construction of a public house on Parkstone Road adjacent to the parade of shops[1]. These plans evidently lapsed, for in 1968 a further plan was submitted on behalf of a second company (Goodhews Ltd) for the erection of larger premises; this time set at an angle to the pre-existing building line, although the name of this establishment was not given on the revised plans[2].
