St. Helen's Church
From Historical Hastings
|St. Helen's Church|
Was constructed circa 1860 utilising stone salvaged from the Old St Helen's Church and built a few hundred yards from the original site on The Ridge.
The older building had suffered from problems with damp penetration leading to its eventual demolition. The new church originally had a taller spire which became something of a landmark, but the height of this was reduced in 1966.
