This large villa situated towards Duke Road on Sedlescombe Road North was built in 1860 and originally home to a doctor, and has a coach house (now converted into a residence) adjoining the driveway. Around 1870, the doctor's maid vanished, with rumours speculating that either she had fallen pregnant, or more sinisterly, been murdered by the doctor.
The ground floor of this building was utilised as a health food factory in the late 1970s and the drive-way used for car sales around the same period.
