Pottery Cottages were a terrace of six cottages constructed for workers at the pottery just north of the junction of modern day Duke Road and Sedlescombe Road North. They took their name from the pottery[1] and field adjacent which was known as Pottery Field on which a number of Football matches were recorded as taking place during the 19th Century.[2]
