Gamleys were a chain of toy shops founded in 1919 near Brighton by Bill Lord. The name was a combination of the famed London stores Gamages and Hamleys. The Hastings store occupied the site of Muttons. After expanding to have seventeen stores covering the South East, the brand went into decline during the mid 2000s and finally closed in 2008. Post closure, Halfords had a branch in this location.
