Fairlight Down Camp
From Historical Hastings
Fairlight Down camp was one of many camps established on the South Coast during the 1778-1783 Anglo-French War. Hastings was classified as being in the 'Kentish Sector' and as such, the camp was under the command of Maj. Gen. Sloper, together with the encampment at Rye[1]
