Clive Vale Hotel
From Historical Hastings
The Hotel was a visuall imposing building standing on the junction of Alfred Road and Old London Road. It was marked up on the plans for the area as "No 15 Tavern Lot". In terms of style the building was very similar to Railway Hotels elsewhere in the county and dominated the surrounding street-scene. A suggestion was made to the author of "An Illustrated History of " that perhaps Ore Railway Station was to be built in the nearby valley as opposed to further down the hill.
The pub was closed circa 1992 and demolished in 2011 to make way for a sheltered housing block.
