Charles Eversfield (1708-1784)

Son of the M. P. for Horsham, Charles Eversfield inherited the Baronetcy of Welches in the County of Suffolk and of Sevenoak in the County of Kent from Henry Fermor upon Henry's death without any heirs. The Eversfield family were wealthy in their own right - his father having made his fortune from the Wealden Iron industry and effectively buying his seat in parliament (a common practice at that time).
