1875 mapping reveals Bedford Place to have been a terrace of cottages on the west side of Russell Street adjacent to the junction with Castle Hill Passage, although Brett claims erroneously that it originally formed part of the latter road. The address was certainly in use during the 1830s, as evidenced by notice that number three was to be sold as a result of the bankruptcy of Boykett Breeds[1]
