1875 mapping reveals Bedford Place to have been a terrace of cottages on the west side of Russell Street adjacent to the junction with Castle Hill Passage, although Brett claims erroneously that it originally formed part of the latter ​road​. The address was certainly in use during the 1830s, as evidenced by notice that number three was to be sold as a result of the bankruptcy of Boykett Breeds[1]
