Donkey Island is the lower of the two patches of grass shown in this map overlay.

Donkey Island was an informal name given to the roughly triangular patch of turf (originally with several trees located thereon) at the junction of Parker Road and Upper Broomgrove Road, being noted as in common usage during the 1950s.
