Bernard Montgomery
From Historical Hastings
General Montgomery (Monty) visited Hastings with Winston Churchill on the 12th of September, 1955 to become honorary members of the Winkle Club. A series of events were planned with a presentation in the White Rock Theatre culminating in the award of the winkle at Winkle Island
