Albert Montague Apel (1865-1939)
Born to a German musician Hermann Apel who moved into 3 Dorset Place at some point prior to 1871, Albert Apel was a newsagent with premises in Robertson Street. Married to a Milliner, Clara Flint in 1865, he later wrote a retrospective for the Hastings & St Leonards Observer in 1936 looking back over the previous 60 years.
