English:  Post Office The new Post Office that replaced Meadow Cottages, later becoming No.1 Queen's Road. Notice the Gaiety Theatre and the Albert Hotel (latterly the John Collier shop and now demolished) have yet to be built.

The Post Office had previously been in Wellington Place and in 1926 became part of Woolworths although it isn't clear whether the old building was completely demolished to build Woolworths or converted. The Woolworths building seems to be a mish mash of old buildings and newbuild.

In the background is the Globe Hotel where in 1895 Frederick Bugg, a lithographic artist of Camberwell, produced a pistol and blew his brains out. The globe closed as a pub in about 1908 and became two shops. They're still there today.
