Pedestrian Tunnel

From Historical Hastings

Hastings has had a number of pedestrian underpasses, some still extant, others now lost. Two particularly noteworthy tunnels crossed under the sea-front road (A259); one leading from the White Rock Pavilion to the Pier and another from the Royal Victoria Hotel to the Pavilion (now Azur), both of these had coloured glass embedded in the roof similar to Bottle Alley. Both of these tunnels are now closed, the latter during WW2 and the former due to anti-social behaviour around 2019.
