Summary

A retired bus, an AEC Reliance with Marshall bodywork[1], being used as a Coach Ticket Office at the Queens Road coach station. The spectator stands built into the back of Queens Parade for the Central Cricket Ground may be seen, together with the rear of Wellington Square Circa 1980 [2]

The Bus

The bus was originally a 52 seater but by the time this photo was taken - late seventies/early 1980s - its passenger seats had been removed and it had become a ticket sales unit. It almost certainly still exists, having been owned/used by the Friends of East Kent preservation group in Dover for many years, but was subsequently sold and used as a mobile base for a surfing school in Cornwall - there are photos of it online doing this in the summer of 2014.[3]
